Youth Risk and Resiliency Survey

Cherokee Central Schools partnered with Public Health and Human Services (PHHS) in the spring of 2016 to administer the Youth Risk and Resiliency Survey (YRRS) to middle and high school students.  With support from PHHS, CCS administers the survey every other year.  The second administration occurred in spring 2018.  Due to the COVID shutdown in spring 2020, the YRRS was not administered.  The most recent administration was in spring 2022.  Reports from all surveys can be found below right.

The YRRS covers risk behaviors as well as resiliency factors, indicators of health and wellness.  Topics include personal safety, violence, mental health, tobacco, alcohol, drug use, sexual behavior, nutrition, physical activity, and resiliency.

The Youth Risk and Resiliency Survey used by CCS was adapted from New Mexico.  Click here for more information on the New Mexico program.

The YRRS is part of the CDC Youth Risk Behavior Surveillance System (YRBSS).  For more information on the Youth Risk and Resiliency Survey, please visit https://www.cdc.gov/healthyyouth/data/yrbs/index.htm
